Thanksgiving

I love this time of year.

I love the spirit that accompanies the month of November and the focus on Thanksgiving.

The Guide to the Scriptures defines Thanks, Thankful, and Thanksgiving as this:

“Gratitude for blessings received from God. Expressing gratitude is pleasing to God, and true worship includes thanking Him. We should give thanks to the Lord for all things.

My thoughts turn to those who pilgrimed to this great land and gave thanks for the bounty that the land provided.

God fearing men and women who desired religious freedom and brought the gospel to the New World.

I am thankful for their sacrifice, their courage, their dedication, and their righteous desire.

As I ponder on all the things that I have to be thankful for, my heart is overcome by the blessings that I have because of those who came before me and established this amazing country that I am privileged to live in.

My thoughts are turned to God and his goodness in delivering, blessing, and prospering those who desired a land where they could be free to worship and live in harmony with God’s laws.

I am so thankful for so many things, but I am most thankful for my faith and belief in Jesus Christ and the opportunity I have had to study his power and teachings in the Old Testament this year.

I am thankful for all that I have learned about Him and am so excited to study his life in the New Testament in January.

I have created this list of 30 scriptures of Thanksgiving from the Bible in hopes that you’ll create time to ponder on all that God has done and all that He is still doing in the lives of those who love Him.

May you have a blessed Thanksgiving and have the eyes to see how prosperous you are.

JOYfully,

Rachel
